FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • WHAT SORT OF PACKAGING DO YOU USE?
    Our popcorn is packed into plastic pouches that have a re-sealable ziplock strip. Each bag also has a tamper proof heat seal strip applied above the ziplock to ensure that the popcorn stays as fresh for as long possible.
  • HOW MANY CUPS OF POPCORN ARE IN EACH BAG?
    All of our popcorn is hand made in small individual batches so the weight of each bag can vary slightly. Rest assured we try to fill the bags to the brim so you get as much of our delicious popcorn as possible. As a guide (using a 250ml cup) each bag contains approximately: Caramel varieties Jumbo bag 15 cups (290 grams) Large bag 10 cups (190 grams) Snack pack bag 2 cups (60 grams) Pink Himalayan Salt Jumbo bag 8 cups (100 grams) Snack Pack bag 2 cups (25 grams)
  • IS YOUR POPCORN GLUTEN FREE?
    Our flavoured popcorn varieties contain small amounts of gluten derived from the vanilla I use. Otherwise yes all of our popcorn flavours are gluten free.
  • DO YOU SELL YOUR POPCORN WHOLESALE?
    Please contact us at admin@samspopcorn.com for information about sending our products to retail outlets in large quantities. We can also provide quotes to supply popcorn in bulk for a special occasion, wedding, birthday or corporate function.
  • DO YOUR PRODUCTS CONTAIN NUTS, SOY, SESAME AND/OR DAIRY?"
    All of Sam's Popcorn products are free of peanuts, tree nuts, sesame and eggs. Some of our products do contain butter made from dairy so please check the ingredient statement on your package.
  • CAN I CHANGE OR CANCEL MY ORDER?
    Yes we can change or cancel orders once they've been processed. Just get in touch via our contact form, email or telephone us and we’ll do our best to help.
  • WHAT TYPE OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
    At the moment you can pay by the website checkout, in person using your credit card (or email us your credit card details and we can securely process your payment offline), you can transfer the money onto our bank account at any stage using the EFT bank details on our website, or use good old cash on delivery (Adelaide metro only).
  • WILL I RECEIVE AN ORDER CONFIRMATION EMAIL?
    Yes, a confirmation email should come through immediately once your order has been placed. However, this can sometimes be misplaced and end up in your Spam folder. So be sure to check there too! If you can’t see it, please contact us and we will search cyberspace far and wide for you to find out what’s happened to your order. Don’t worry, we are trained professionals and we will find it!
  • I HAVE A PROMO CODE, HOW DO I USE IT?"
    First, lucky you! Second, at the website checkout, just type your code in to the box by clicking on "Promo Code" and press apply. Your cart should show the promotional discount and the new total. Here's the boring stuff..... (Terms and Conditions): Offers are only valid on purchases made through dates listed in the offer. Offers cannot be applied to previous or pending purchases. Offers cannot be combined with any other offer. Offers are not redeemable for cash or credit, and lost or stolen offers will not be replaced. If you're having trouble with your code then please contact us we'll look into it for you.
  • IS THERE A MINIMUM ORDER?
    Our minimum order is just $15 for free delivery within Adelaide metro area. Unfortunately, below $15 within the Adelaide metro area attracts a delivery fee of $9.95.
  • WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY ORDER?
    Adelaide metropolitan We try to dispatch all orders placed today within 5 days but we are often faster than that. National Orders to other states in Australia are shipped using a courier who can take 2-3 days to deliver your popcorn depending on your location. At busy times of the year like at Christmas it can take up to a week to arrive (sorry this is out of our control). Once your order has been picked up by the courier you will receive a confirmation email with your unique tracking number. If there is a query with the address provided, please contact either us or the courier company directly so the delivery information can be amended. This will help prevent any delays in getting your popcorn!
  • DO YOU DELIVER ON WEEKENDS?
    We deliver on weekends (in the Adelaide metro area) if an order has been placed during the week but unfortunately, courier companies do not pick up on weekends. If you are really desperate for our delicious popcorn and just can’t wait, you can try calling us and we will do what we can to help.
  • CAN I CHANGE THE DELIVERY ADDRESS AFTER I'VE ORDERED?
    Yes if you contact us in time, however, it’s not guaranteed. If you think you might want to change the address please get in touch as soon as possible via our contact form, email or telephone number and we’ll do our very best to intercept your order.
  • DO I HAVE TO BE THERE TO RECEIVE MY DELIVERY?
    No. If you are not home the courier will leave a note in your letterbox telling you of the failed delivery and how you can organize redelivery. Usually, it’s stored at your local post office, newsagency or parcel centre depending on your location.
  • HOW MUCH DOES DELIVERY COST?
    We have tried to simplify the delivery charges as much as possible as it is quite complicated in Australia. Our pricing in the checkout drop down menus include the cost of delivery based on weight and volume. To help with this estimation we have provided a guide for the number of bags each delivery option usually covers. However, now and then a location will attract other charges by the courier company. If your suburb is identified after you place your order as a location that has a higher delivery charge you will be contacted asap to discuss the fees involved. We don't add any money to the courier costs because we want as many people to have the opportunity to eat our popcorn as possible.
  • WHAT ARE THE CHRISTMAS DELIVERY DATES?
    Here are the last order dates for guaranteed pre-Christmas Delivery: Adelaide metro we deliver up to 5pm on Christmas eve Interstate and the larger South Australian area – 19th December Please call us if you have a POPCORN EMERGENCY and we will do our best to help out if it’s outside of these times! We also close down our kitchen, warehouse and office from the 24th December until we reopen on the 2nd January (please organize large orders for New Years eve before Christmas) any orders placed within that period will be dispatched when we reopen in January!
  • HOW DO I KEEP MY POPCORN FRESH?
    We want you to enjoy our popcorn at its best so we offer these recommendations to help extend its freshness: Make sure you eat the popcorn within three months from your purchase Try to keep the popcorn away from adverse weather (e.g. heat, direct sunlight and humidity) Once opened, reseal the bag using the zip lock, store in a cool, dry place away from prying hands Our popcorn isn’t suitable for home freezing or microwaving
  • CAN I SERVE MY POPCORN WARM?
    Yes! For a totally different taste experience you can try serving your caramel popcorn warm. Remove it from the pack, place it on a baking tray (no oil required) and ‘POP’ it in the oven for around 6 minutes at 75C, until the caramel coating is soft and gooey. Serve at just above room temperature. (Please note these heating instructions are intended as a guideline, appliances can vary!).
  • CAN I ADD EXTRA CRUNCH TO MY POPCORN?
    If once you’ve opened your popcorn you find it has gone a bit soft, simply ‘POP’ it on a baking tray and heat in the oven for around 6 minutes at 75C. Wait for it to cool and enjoy your popcorn with an extra crunch. (Please note these heating instructions are intended as a guideline, appliances can vary!)
  • ONCE OPEN HOW LONG WILL MY POPCORN LAST?
    Usually around 5 minutes! But if you can't finish a pack in one sitting, just use the re-seal strip on the bags, and consume within 5 days. A sealed bag that hasn’t been opened will last up to 3 months from the day you purchased it.
  • HOW LONG ARE THE BEST BEFORE DATES?
    We try and deliver the popcorn to you with a minimum of 3 months shelf life.
  • WARNING!
    Our popcorn is handmade and although we try very hard to remove all of the unpopped kernels it's possible that one or two might be missed. Please take care when eating the popcorn or giving it to children.
  • HOW DO I STOP PEOPLE STEALING MY POPCORN?
    Although we are responsible for the delicious, salty, sweet and crunchy popcorn, we cannot stop your friends (or enemies) stealing it. You could distract them by showing them our website and they can buy their own popcorn. Alternatively, you can set up a safe zone in your house. We recommend that the safe zone is protected by an intricate system of traps, laser trip wires and personal recognition systems to thwart any attempts by those who would try to steal your popcorn!
